COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce / Law at UNSW is a five-year double degree program that requires students to complete a total of 240 Units of Credit (UOC), combining 144 UOC from Law and 96 UOC from Commerce. The Law component forms the larger portion of the degree and includes 96 UOC of compulsory core courses that cover foundational legal areas such as contracts, criminal law, constitutional law, and legal systems. Students also complete 6 UOC of prescribed law electives and 42 UOC of additional law electives, allowing them to explore specialised areas of legal practice. The Commerce component includes 48 UOC of Integrated First-Year courses that introduce key business concepts such as finance, marketing, economics, and management. Students then complete a 48 UOC Commerce major in a chosen field such as accounting, finance, economics, or business analytics. The program also includes a Work Integrated Learning course, which can be completed through either Commerce or Law, providing practical professional experience. A Final Year Synthesis project (0–6 UOC) allows students to integrate and apply their learning. The MyBCom program supports career planning and professional development throughout the Commerce component. Overall, this double degree prepares graduates for careers in law, corporate practice, consulting, government, policy, and business leadership, combining strong legal expertise with commercial and analytical skills.
