COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Computer Science at UNSW is a four-year full-time double degree program that combines business studies with advanced computing skills. Students complete 16 Commerce courses and 16 Computer Science courses, allowing them to gain strong expertise in both fields. In the Commerce component, students begin with 8 Integrated First-Year core courses that build a foundation in business areas such as finance, marketing, economics, and analytics. They then complete 8 additional courses from their chosen Commerce major, helping them develop specialised business knowledge. In the Computer Science component, students study 11 core courses covering programming, algorithms, data structures, and software development, along with 5 elective courses that allow further specialisation. The program is structured across four years, with early years focusing on foundational knowledge in both disciplines and later years allowing more advanced and specialised study. Students also complete a Work-Integrated Learning internship or practicum, giving them real industry experience. Additional elements such as the MyBCom Blueprint, First Year Portfolio, and Graduation Portfolio help students plan their careers and showcase their skills. In the final year, students complete a synthesis project along with advanced elective courses in both Commerce and Computer Science. Overall, the degree prepares graduates for careers in technology, software development, business analytics, consulting, and data-driven industries.
