COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce / Aviation (Management) at UNSW is a four-year double degree program that requires students to complete a total of 192 Units of Credit (UOC), combining 96 UOC from Commerce and 96 UOC from Aviation (Management). In the Aviation (Management) component, students complete 78 UOC of compulsory core courses that cover key areas such as airline and airport operations, aviation safety, human factors, aviation law, sustainability, and aviation economics. They also complete 18 UOC of Aviation electives, allowing them to specialise further in aviation topics of interest. In the Commerce component, students complete 48 UOC of Integrated First-Year courses that build a foundation in business problem-solving, economics, and analytics. They then choose one Commerce major worth 48 UOC, which provides specialised knowledge in a business discipline such as finance, marketing, or management. Students must also complete a Work Integrated Learning course, which can be taken through Commerce or Science, to gain real-world industry experience. A Final Year Synthesis project (0–6 UOC) is also included to integrate learning across the degree. Some course substitutions apply, such as not needing MATH1041 because equivalent content is covered in Commerce courses. Overall, this degree prepares graduates for careers in airlines, airports, aviation management, consulting, and business roles in the global aviation industry.
