COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce / Arts at UNSW is a four-year full-time double degree that combines structured business training with flexible study in arts disciplines. Students complete both a Commerce major and an Arts major, with additional elective space that can be used to study a minor or explore other interests. A major typically consists of eight to ten courses in a single discipline, allowing students to develop strong expertise in both fields. In the first year, students complete Integrated First-Year Commerce courses along with introductory Arts subjects, while also participating in career-focused programs such as the MyBCom Blueprint and MyBCom First Year Portfolio. These help students understand their strengths and plan their academic and career paths. In the second year, students continue foundational Commerce and Arts studies while refining their Arts major choice. The third year includes a mandatory Work Integrated Learning experience, such as an internship or practicum, along with more advanced courses in both majors and elective options. In the final year, students complete advanced Commerce and Arts subjects, a BCom Final Year Synthesis project, and the MyBCom Graduation Portfolio. Overall, the program is designed to build strong business knowledge, creative thinking, and communication skills, preparing graduates for careers in business, media, government, consulting, and other diverse professional fields.
