COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Aviation (Management) at UNSW requires students to complete a total of 144 Units of Credit (UOC) as a standalone three-year program. The degree is structured into two main parts: a Discipline Specific Core and a Breadth Component. The Discipline Specific Core consists of 96 UOC, which includes 78 UOC of core Aviation (Management) courses across Levels 1, 2, and 3, and 18 UOC of Aviation (Management) electives. These core subjects cover key areas such as aviation operations, safety management, human factors, aviation law, finance, marketing, and airport or airline management. The electives allow students to specialise further within aviation management based on their interests and career goals. The Breadth Component makes up 48 UOC and is designed to broaden the student’s knowledge beyond aviation. This includes 36 UOC of free electives, which can be chosen from any faculty within the university, and 12 UOC of general education courses that develop broader academic and communication skills. Overall, this structure ensures students gain strong aviation industry knowledge along with wider academic exposure. Graduates are prepared for careers in airline operations, airport management, aviation safety, regulatory authorities, and other roles within the global aviation industry, with both technical understanding and strong managerial skills.
