COURSE CURRICULUM

The course requires candidates to complete 96 credit points to qualify for the award, with at least 42 credit points at the 500 level to ensure advanced academic engagement. Under Rule A, which applies to candidates admitted under Rule (a), students must complete 96 credit points through a structured combination of core units, a research or capstone experience, and listed units from Group 1 and Group 2. The core units provide essential theoretical and disciplinary foundations, while the research or capstone component allows students to apply their knowledge in a practical or investigative context. The listed units in both groups offer opportunities for students to tailor their learning by selecting topics that align with their professional goals or academic interests. Rule B applies to candidates admitted under Rule (b), who are also required to complete 96 credit points, but their progression structure differs because it includes advanced standing. This recognition of prior learning allows eligible students to reduce the number of units they must complete by receiving credit for previous studies or professional experience. After advanced standing is applied, students complete the remaining credit points through core units, a research or capstone experience, and listed units. The core units ensure all candidates achieve the required academic standards, while the research or capstone experience continues to emphasise analytical, investigative, and practical skills. The listed units under Rule B provide further options for academic customisation and skill development.
