COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graduate Certificate in Education Studies at UNE requires students to complete 24 credit points, with at least 6 credit points at the 500 level. The course structure is designed to offer flexibility through a series of schedules tailored to different pathways and specialisations. Schedule A provides a general program for students admitted under Rule A, comprising listed units. Schedule B focuses on Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and is available to students admitted under Rule A or Rule B, including prescribed and listed units. Schedule C covers Digital Learning for those admitted under Rule A or Rule C, offering a combination of prescribed and listed units. Schedule D specialises in Indigenous Australian Education and is for students admitted under Rule A, with prescribed and listed units. Schedule E addresses Special and Inclusive Education for students admitted under Rule A, consisting of listed units. Schedule F is focused on School Leadership and is available to students admitted under Rule D, including prescribed units. This structure allows students to tailor their studies according to their career goals and interests, ensuring coverage of core educational concepts while providing in-depth knowledge in their chosen specialisation. The course supports both online and on-campus study, accommodating full-time and part-time enrolment and providing access to academic support, resources, and practical experiences designed to enhance professional development. By completing the required credit points and units, students gain the foundational and specialised skills necessary to advance in education, leadership, and related professional fields. The course also provides pathways to further study, including advanced diplomas or master’s programs, with credit for units completed in the Graduate Certificate.
