COURSE CURRICULUM

The course structure for the Bachelor of Economics with Honours requires students to complete 48 credit points, comprising 24 credit points of advanced coursework at the 400 level or above and a 24-credit-point dissertation in their chosen area of study. The core component totals 36 credit points and includes a major research dissertation, Research Methods, and one advanced economics unit chosen from either Advanced Microeconomics or Advanced Macroeconomics, allowing students to tailor their studies toward their research interests. Alongside the core units, students must complete 12 credit points of 400-level electives. These elective units may be selected from any discipline offered by the university, provided students meet prerequisite, timetabling and overall course requirements, and obtain approval from the Course Coordinator. This structure ensures students build strong research capability, deepen their understanding of advanced economic theory and apply rigorous analytical methods within their dissertation, while also having the flexibility to explore complementary fields such as statistics, mathematics, computer science or other relevant areas at an advanced level.
