COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) requires students to complete 48 credit points made up of advanced coursework and a dissertation component, forming an integrated program of higher-level academic study. Each candidate must work closely with appointed supervisors, with the mode and frequency of consultation determined through a joint agreement between the supervisors, course coordinator, and the student before each year of study, and this may include required face-to-face meetings. Students are generally not permitted to enrol in additional units at UNE or other institutions while undertaking the honours program, unless special approval is granted by the course coordinator on the recommendation of the Head of School. The degree consists of a single 48-credit-point major, which must be the one specified in the student’s offer letter. Available majors include Ancient History, Archaeology, Chinese, Classical Languages, Criminology, English, French, Geography, German, History, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Linguistics, Media and Communications, Music, Philosophy, Politics, Peace and International Relations, Sociology, Spanish, Studies in Religion, Theatre and Digital Performance, and Writing.
