COURSE CURRICULUM

The course requires students to complete a total of 144 credit points, with specific rules to ensure an appropriate balance between introductory, advanced and higher-level study. Students must complete no more than 60 credit points at the 100 level, at least 36 credit points at the 300 level and no more than 12 credit points at the 400 level. These requirements apply regardless of the choice of majors, minors or electives, so students must ensure that their individual study plan remains compliant with the overall course rules. Under Rule A, which applies to candidates admitted through the standard entry pathway, students must complete 144 credit points made up of designated core units, practical experience components, a selected major and either a minor or additional elective units. Rule A ensures that all students develop a solid foundation of discipline knowledge, undertake hands-on learning and engage in focused study in at least one area of specialisation. Rule B applies to candidates who are admitted with prior qualifications, specifically those who have completed the Diploma of Agriculture offered by TAFE or another Registered Training Organisation. These candidates receive 48 credit points of block advanced standing, reducing their overall study load while ensuring they still meet the academic and practical requirements of the degree. Under Rule B, students complete the remaining credit points through an approved major, required practical components and any additional units needed to meet course rules.
