COURSE CURRICULUM

The course structure for the Bachelor of Agribusiness with Honours requires students to complete a combination of advanced coursework and an in-depth research component to develop high-level academic and analytical skills. Candidates must complete 18 credit points of 400-level advanced coursework in their chosen subject area, selected from any units offered by the University, as long as the units meet overall course requirements, prerequisites and timetabling availability, and are approved by the Course Coordinator. In addition to the coursework, students complete a research methodology unit, Research Methods (BUS505), worth 6 credit points, which builds the foundation for designing, conducting and analysing their research project. The major component of the honours year is the Dissertation (BUS481C), valued at 24 credit points, in which students undertake a substantial research project under academic supervision in a topic aligned with their study area. This dissertation allows students to apply the knowledge and skills developed throughout their degree to a real-world problem or strategic issue relevant to the agribusiness sector. Altogether, the core units total 30 credit points. Students must also complete an additional 18 credit points of 400-level elective units, which may be chosen from any discipline across the University, provided they align with course rules and receive approval from the Course Coordinator. This structure gives students flexibility to tailor their honours year to their interests, research goals and professional aspirations.
