COURSE CURRICULUM

The 150-point Master of Finance is designed to be completed in 18 months of full-time study, with a part-time option available for domestic students. The program comprises four compulsory subjects, at least four core subjects, two capstone subjects, and up to two electives, providing a strong balance of foundational knowledge, specialised skills, and practical application. Compulsory subjects cover essential areas such as quantitative analysis, financial markets, financial statement analysis, and the economics of finance, forming a solid base for advanced study. Core subjects deepen expertise in areas like corporate restructuring, applied investment management, applied risk management, data analysis, and emerging technologies in finance such as applied machine learning. Capstone subjects offer opportunities to integrate learning and develop professional competencies through projects like case studies or research-focused applied projects. For students interested in pursuing graduate research, a research pathway is available through the Applied Research Project and Advanced Applied Research Project subjects, providing preparation for higher degree research programs. Elective subjects, such as international financial management, allow students to tailor their studies to specific interests and career goals. The program is structured to blend rigorous theoretical study with practical, hands-on experiences, equipping graduates with the analytical, technical, and professional skills required to succeed in the global finance industry.
