COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Environmental Systems Engineering is a one-year full-time degree designed to equip students with advanced expertise in various environmental engineering areas such as air pollution, clean production, and environmental management systems. Throughout the program, students gain a broad understanding of environmental practices and explore critical themes including waste management, energy, and water resources. They learn to model and analyze the environmental impacts of engineering solutions and manage the environmental aspects of business operations. The course requires the completion of 100 points of study, including four core subjects focused on environmental modeling, sustainable infrastructure, monitoring environmental impacts, and environmental analysis tools. Students have the flexibility to specialize by choosing three subjects, worth 37.5 points, in their preferred area of environmental engineering, such as waste management, energy, or water resources. Regardless of the chosen specialization, students participate in an Infrastructure Engineering Research Project, working alongside world-leading researchers on industry-partnered projects or independent research. This hands-on experience provides valuable practical skills and professional connections. Additionally, students can broaden their expertise by selecting approved electives in topics like hydrology, spatial information, transport, contracts and procurement, and port engineering. The program’s combination of core knowledge, specialized focus, research opportunities, and electives prepares graduates to address complex environmental challenges and pursue leadership roles in sustainable engineering and environmental management.
