COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering Management at the University of Melbourne is a one-year, full-time postgraduate program designed to equip engineers with the technical, managerial, and strategic skills needed to lead complex engineering projects and teams. The program integrates engineering expertise with advanced business knowledge delivered through Melbourne Business School, offering a unique combination of applied learning and industry-relevant training.Students undertake a core Engineering Management Capstone and Strategic Management subject, providing practical experience in decision-making, problem-solving, and exploring best practices in engineering management. The program also allows students to specialise in Change Management or Project Management, gaining targeted knowledge aligned with industry needs. Change Management specialisation subjects include Building Information Modeling, Management and Leadership for Engineers, Engineering Entrepreneurship, Managing Change for IS Professionals, and Quality and Reliability. Project Management specialisation subjects include Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering, Engineering Project Implementation, Transport System Modelling, Engineering Contracts and Procurement, and Project Management Practices.In addition to core and specialisation subjects, students select three electives from areas such as Accounting for Decision Making, Managerial Economics, Financial Management, Human Resource Fundamentals, Supply Chain Management, Operations and Process Management, Management Competencies, and Business Analysis and Decision Making.
