COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Design and Production is a two-year, 200-point full-time program that provides advanced training in stage, screen, and graphic design. Students choose a specialisation—Stage Design, Production Design for Screen, or Graphic Design—and complete eight core subjects (175 points) alongside two specialisation-specific subjects (25 points). Progression from Year 1 to Year 2 requires completion of all first-year subjects.For the Stage Design specialisation, Year 1 focuses on building foundational skills through subjects such as Design Research, Design Projects 1, Creative Collaboration (Stage), Design and the Production Process, Design Projects 2, and Technical Collaboration (Stage & Screen). These subjects blend theoretical study with practical, collaborative, and studio-based learning.Year 2 emphasises professional practice and project application, with students completing Industry Practice Parts 1 and 2 and Design Projects 3 Parts 1 and 2, serving as capstone experiences. This structure allows students to consolidate their creative, technical, and collaborative skills, producing work that reflects professional standards in the creative industries. The program integrates opportunities for real-world placements, live briefs, and collaboration with peers across disciplines, preparing graduates to enter the stage, screen, or graphic design sectors with both practical expertise and a strong conceptual foundation.
