COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Construction Law is a 100-credit point program designed for both law and non-law graduates seeking to build specialised expertise in construction law. The course structure adapts to the academic background of each student. Those without a law degree from a common law jurisdiction must complete the subject Fundamentals of the Common Law, along with 87.5 credit points from the prescribed subject lists. Of these, at least 62.5 credit points must be drawn from the Construction Law list. Students with a law degree from a common law jurisdiction are required to complete at least 87.5 credit points from the prescribed lists, including 62.5 credit points in Construction Law subjects. They may take the remaining 12.5 credit points from other subjects offered in the Master of Laws program, excluding Fundamentals of the Common Law and the Minor Thesis.To maintain academic depth and avoid redundancy, students are not permitted to enrol in both Principles of Construction Law and Construction Law. This ensures a focused and progressive learning experience.The program is tailored to accommodate the busy schedules of professionals, with subjects offered throughout the year from February to December. Most subjects are delivered in intensive formats over five days, enabling students to engage deeply with course material in a condensed time frame. Alternatively, some subjects are taught weekly over the semester, providing additional flexibility.Courses are delivered in multiple formats to suit different learning needs and locations. Online subjects typically combine pre-recorded lectures, live sessions, and interactive discussion forums, while on-campus options feature seminar-style classes held at the Law Building in Melbourne. This structure provides both accessibility and the opportunity for direct engagement with academic staff and peers.Graduates are equipped to handle legal complexities in construction and infrastructure, contributing to policy, advisory, and leadership roles in the industry.
