COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Actuarial Science (150-point) at Melbourne Business School is a 1.5-year full-time program designed to provide a fast-track pathway into the actuarial profession. The degree requires completion of 12 semester-length subjects, comprising 6 discipline core subjects, 2 capstone subjects, and 4 electives. It equips students with analytical and problem-solving skills essential for applying actuarial theory and techniques in insurance, finance, and related areas.Core subjects cover the foundational actuarial mathematics and life insurance models through sequential courses in Mathematics of Finance (I–III), Life Insurance Models (I–II), and Topics in Insurance and Finance. Capstone subjects, including Life Contingencies and General Insurance Modelling, allow students to integrate knowledge and apply it to real-world actuarial problems.
