COURSE CURRICULUM

The PhD is primarily research-based with no fixed taught curriculum. Candidates develop a research proposal, conduct independent research, and produce a thesis of up to 80,000-100,000 words. The program includes compulsory induction, research integrity training, and progress reviews (confirmation, mid-candidature, and pre-submission). Optional components may include workshops on research methods, data analysis, academic writing, and presentation skills. Candidates participate in seminars, conferences, and may undertake relevant coursework if recommended by supervisors. The focus is on original contribution to knowledge, with supervision from experts in medicine, dentistry, or health sciences. Part-time options extend the structure over 8 years.
