COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) is a one-year advanced program designed for students who have demonstrated strong academic performance and wish to deepen their scientific expertise through research and specialised study. Delivered through the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, or the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, depending on the chosen research stream, this program offers a valuable bridge to graduate research degrees such as a PhD or MPhil. It builds on the knowledge gained during the undergraduate Bachelor of Science and provides an opportunity to focus on a specific area of interest while engaging in original research.The honours year consists of two key components: advanced coursework and a research project. The advanced coursework component enables students to expand their theoretical understanding and develop subject-specific expertise, particularly in areas closely aligned with their research focus. This includes engagement with scientific literature, methodology training, and seminars that enhance critical analysis and academic writing skills.The research project component forms the core of the program and allows students to apply their knowledge in a practical, supervised setting.
