COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Design (Honours) degree is a one-year advanced program that requires the completion of 100 credit points and is designed for students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their undergraduate studies. The degree allows students to specialise in one of three areas: Architectural History, Theory and Criticism, Landscape Architecture, or Urban Planning. The program structure includes 62.5 credit points of core subjects, which consist of a 50-point thesis and a 12.5-point Research Methods in Design subject. In addition, students must complete 37.5 credit points of elective coursework, typically made up of three subjects related to their field of study. The honours thesis is a major component of the degree and requires students to undertake independent research under the guidance of an academic supervisor. This research project allows students to explore a topic of interest in depth, develop advanced research skills, and contribute original insights to their area of specialisation. To successfully complete the Bachelor of Design (Honours), students must achieve an honours grade in all components of the course, including the thesis and coursework.
