COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Biomedicine (Degree with Honours) is a one-year, advanced program designed for high-achieving students who wish to pursue original research or enter professional health careers such as medicine, dentistry, or clinical psychology. Offering 20 different programs across various biomedical and health science disciplines, this honours degree provides a strong foundation for those aiming to undertake a Higher Research Degree or continue into clinical practice. The course structure requires students to complete 100 credit points through full-time study (except for the Psychology stream, which may allow part-time study). The program is made up of two core components: advanced coursework and a research project. Students typically complete two to four advanced coursework subjects, each worth 12.5 credit points. These coursework subjects may include 400-level lectures and tutorials, journal clubs, literature reviews, oral presentations, and other academic activities designed to deepen understanding and critical engagement with contemporary biomedical topics. The second and most substantial component is a research project, which carries a credit value between 50 and 75 points depending on the specific program. This project is conducted under the supervision of an academic expert and allows students to engage deeply with a particular research question, develop their technical and analytical skills, and contribute new insights to their field.
