COURSE CURRICULUM

Progress reviews are structured milestones designed to monitor the academic progress of Master of Research (Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences) candidates and provide feedback at key stages of their research. The first stage, the preconfirmation review, occurs approximately three months after enrolment, during which candidates are expected to have completed initial thesis-related tasks and attended research training workshops to prepare for focused research. The confirmation of candidature review takes place between nine and twelve months, evaluating the candidate’s progress, research plan, and engagement with training, ensuring the project is viable for independent study.The mid-candidature review, scheduled between twelve and twenty-four months, serves as a checkpoint to assess ongoing research development, methodology, and overall progress. Candidates demonstrate advancement in their work and address feedback from earlier reviews. The draft thesis review occurs between thirty-three and thirty-six months, with a follow-up approximately three months prior to thesis submission. This stage ensures candidates are on track to complete their thesis and provides guidance for refining their research and final submission.At each stage, candidates must complete thesis-related tasks and participate in research training workshops, maintaining continuous engagement with supervisors and the research community. These progress reviews provide timely feedback, support the resolution of challenges, and help ensure successful completion of the program within the expected timeframe.
