COURSE CURRICULUM

Progress reviews are an integral part of research programs, designed to monitor academic progress and provide feedback to candidates at various stages of their candidature. The timing and requirements for these reviews vary depending on the degree and enrolment status of the student. The first stage, the preconfirmation review, occurs approximately three months after enrolment and focuses on the completion of initial thesis-related tasks and participation in research training workshops. The confirmation of candidature review follows between nine and twelve months, assessing the candidate’s research plan, progress in methodology, and readiness to continue with independent research. The mid-candidature review, typically conducted between twelve and twenty-four months, evaluates ongoing progress, preliminary findings, and the ability to meet set milestones, while continuing to reinforce research skills and participation in relevant workshops. The final stage, the draft thesis review, takes place between thirty-three and thirty-six months, with a follow-up review approximately three months prior to thesis submission. This review assesses the near-complete draft of the thesis, ensuring the candidate is prepared for final submission and that research objectives have been met. Throughout all stages, progress reviews provide structured guidance, constructive feedback, and opportunities for reflection, supporting candidates in producing high-quality research and achieving successful completion of their degree.
