COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering Science comprises core units that develop advanced technical, research, and professional skills. Engineering Project Management (CSM80006) equips students with the knowledge and tools to plan, execute, and manage engineering projects effectively, including risk assessment, resource management, and project evaluation. Professional Practice in Engineering (EAT80003) focuses on the ethical, regulatory, and workplace standards required of professional engineers, preparing students for industry practice. Research Methods (ICT80011) provides essential skills for conducting rigorous, systematic research, including data analysis and methodological approaches. The Engineering Master Major Thesis (ENG80002), a substantial 50-credit-point unit, allows students to undertake independent research, apply advanced engineering knowledge, and contribute original findings to their field. In addition to these core units, students select specialisation units aligned with their chosen discipline, enabling deeper expertise in areas such as electrical, mechanical, civil, or telecommunications engineering. Together, these units prepare graduates to work as professional engineers, lead technical projects, and contribute innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
