COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering Practice requires students to complete 100 credit points, consisting of two core units and twelve specialisation units to qualify for the award. The core units, Engineering Project Management (CSM80006) and Research Paper (CVE80001), equip students with essential skills in managing engineering projects and conducting professional research.For those specialising in Structural Engineering, students must complete four core specialisation units and two additional specialisation units, allowing them to focus on advanced structural engineering topics. Available specialisation units include Advanced Concrete Design (CVE80004), Bridge Design and Strengthening (CVE80005), Building Design Project (CVE80021), Estimating and Project Costing (CSM80016), Infrastructure Deterioration Modelling (CVE80006), Geotechnical Design (CVE80007), Principles of Sustainability (CVE80010), Finite Element Methods and Applications (CVE80018), Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering (CVE80019), and Bridge Design (CVE80020).By completing these core and specialised units, graduates gain advanced technical knowledge, project management skills, and practical research experience. The program prepares students for professional practice in structural engineering, equipping them to tackle complex engineering challenges and contribute effectively to industry projects and leadership roles.
