COURSE CURRICULUM

Progress reviews are designed to monitor a candidate’s academic progress and provide structured feedback at different stages of their research degree. The schedule and requirements for these reviews vary depending on the type of degree and the student’s enrolment status.The first review, the preconfirmation review, is due three months from enrolment. At this stage, candidates are expected to have completed initial thesis-related tasks and attended research training workshops. The aim is to ensure early alignment with research objectives and clarify the scope and feasibility of the proposed project.The confirmation of candidature review occurs between nine and twelve months from enrolment. By this point, students should demonstrate that they are progressing effectively with their research tasks and applying the skills gained from workshops. This review assesses the readiness of the candidate to continue with the main phase of their research and confirms the viability of the research plan.The mid-candidature review is scheduled between twelve and twenty-four months from enrolment. Candidates are required to show continued progress in their thesis work and engagement with research training activities. This stage provides an opportunity to evaluate research outcomes to date, address any challenges, and adjust the research direction if necessary.Finally, the draft thesis review is due between thirty-three and thirty-six months, with a follow-up three months prior to thesis submission. Candidates are expected to have completed the majority of their research and to present a near-complete draft of the thesis. This review focuses on the quality and coherence of the research, providing critical feedback to refine and finalise the thesis prior to submission.Overall, these progress reviews provide structured checkpoints to ensure that candidates are on track, receive timely guidance, and maintain a high standard of research throughout their candidature.
