COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graduate Certificate in Forensic Mental Health Nursing consists of four core units, each worth 12.5 credit points, designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills for working in forensic mental health settings. The Core Skills in Forensic Practice unit (FBS80001) introduces foundational competencies necessary for safe and effective practice. Fundamentals of Criminal Law Process (FBS80002) covers key legal principles and legislation relevant to forensic nursing. Principles of Violence Risk Assessment and Management (FBS80003) teaches strategies for assessing and managing risk in clinical contexts. The Forensic Mental Health Nursing unit (FBS80008) integrates clinical and legal knowledge, focusing on applying best practices when caring for forensic patients.
