The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Swinburne University is a four-year integrated program designed to provide a strong foundation in psychological theory, research, and professional practice while preparing students for postgraduate study and a career as a professional psychologist. These units strengthen both theoretical knowledge and analytical skills, enabling students to understand human development, cognitive processes, and social influences.The third year focuses on advanced psychological concepts and practical applications. Semester 1 includes Psychology Project (PSY30003) and Psychology of Personality (PSY30008), and Semester 2 covers Mental Health Diversity, Diagnosis and Treatment (PSY30016) and History and Philosophy of Psychology (PSY30013), allowing students to explore personality, mental health, and the evolution of psychological thought, while further developing research and analytical skills.The final honours year emphasises independent research and professional development. Semester 1 includes Honours Thesis A (PSY40009), Advanced Quantitative Methods (PSY40001), and Counselling Psychology (PSY40008). Semester 2 continues with Honours Thesis B (PSY40002), Ethical and Professional Issues (PSY40005), and Psychological Assessment (PSY40006).
