The Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) provides a comprehensive foundation in the essential technical and analytical skills required to succeed in the fast-paced technology sector. The indicative sequence for Semester 1, 2026, outlines the progression of core study units designed to help students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise across key areas of computing, networking, and information systems. Students begin with introductory subjects that establish a strong base in web development, network administration, and programming through units such as Web Development (COS10005), Network Administration (TNE10005), and Introduction to Programming (COS10009). These foundational studies enable students to gain practical experience in coding, network setup, and systems operation, preparing them for more advanced technical projects.The course also integrates important skills in ICT project management, teamwork, and problem-solving through units like ICT Inquiry Project (ICT10022) and Technology in an Indigenous Context Project (COS10025), which encourage innovation and awareness of technology’s social impact. As students advance, they explore data handling and analysis through Fundamentals of Data Management (COS20015), equipping them with the ability to manage and interpret complex datasets in various professional contexts.
