COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Health Science at Swinburne University provides students with a comprehensive foundation in health-related disciplines while offering the flexibility to pursue majors such as psychology, forensic science, or forensic psychology. As students progress into the second year, the program focuses on understanding human behaviour, cognition, and performance with units like Brain and Behaviour, Cognition and Human Performance, and Developmental Psychology, alongside quantitative skills in Analysis of Variance and Regression and Statistics for Forensics. A key feature of the degree is the professional placement, available as either a 12-month major or a 6-month minor placement, which gives students hands-on experience in real-world health settings, allowing them to apply their knowledge, develop professional skills, and network within the industry. In the final year, students undertake advanced units such as Health Sciences Project, Psychology of Personality, Advanced Topics in Forensic Psychology, and Mental Health Diversity, Diagnosis and Treatment, allowing them to specialise and deepen their expertise in their chosen field.
