The indicative sequence for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) for Semester 1, 2026, provides a comprehensive pathway combining core engineering theory, practical projects, and professional placements to prepare students for a career in engineering. In the early years, students build foundational knowledge through units such as Humanitarian Engineering Design Project (ENG10001), Engineering Materials (ENG10002), Preliminary Mathematics (MTH00007), Energy and Motion (PHY10001), Introduction to Programming (COS10009), and Technology in an Indigenous Context Project (COS10025). These units develop analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills essential for all engineering disciplines.Students continue to advance their technical understanding with units like Engineering Mechanics (ENG10003), Linear Algebra and Applications (MTH10013), and Calculus and Applications (MTH10012). Practical experience is integrated through professional placements and project-based learning, including Engineering Technology Projects and Final Year Capstone Projects, which vary depending on the chosen major—Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Product Design, Biomedical, Electrical, Robotics, or Software. These projects provide hands-on experience in design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions.Professional placements are a key feature of the program. Students may undertake a major 12-month placement, completing Work Experience in Industry A and B (WEI20001, WEI20002) alongside integrated academic units (ENG20003, ENG20004), or a shorter six-month placement, offering exposure to real-world engineering environments and industry practices.This combination of core study, specialized projects, and professional placements ensures that graduates develop both technical competence and industry-ready skills.
