COURSE CURRICULUM

The Education Studies program at Swinburne University provides a foundation in planning and implementing learning across diverse educational contexts. In Semester 1, students complete core units including Understanding Language and Literacy (EDU10002), The World of Maths (EDU10003), Theories of Teaching and Learning (EDU10004), and Introduction to Academic Language, Literacy and Numeracy in Education (EDU10026), developing essential knowledge and skills for supporting learning. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with Indigenous Education and Perspectives (EDU10005), Developing Literacy (EDU20001), Mathematics in Practice (EDU20002), and one elective unit, allowing students to tailor their studies to specific interests or career goals. This sequence equips graduates with the expertise to contribute to educational policy, program development, and training roles, although it does not lead to teacher registration.
