COURSE CURRICULUM

The Education program at Swinburne University begins by building a strong foundation in teaching and learning through core first-year units. In Semester 1, students study Understanding Language and Literacy (EDU10002), The World of Maths (EDU10003), Theories of Teaching and Learning (EDU10004), and Introduction to Academic Language, Literacy and Numeracy in Education (EDU10026), developing essential skills for supporting children’s learning across multiple domains. Semester 2 focuses on practical application and deeper understanding, with units such as Introduction to Curriculum Planning and Assessment: Practicum 1 (EDU10001), Indigenous Education and Perspectives (EDU10005), Developing Literacy (EDU20001), and Contemporary Perspectives of Learning and Development (EDU20003).
