COURSE CURRICULUM

The indicative sequence for the Bachelor of Cyber Security for Semester 1, 2026 provides a structured pathway for students to develop foundational knowledge, specialised skills, and practical experience in information and network security. Students are advised to use the study plan template available via their student portal in conjunction with their course planner to organise their studies, keeping in mind that the sequence may vary depending on advanced standing or exemptions, and that unit offerings may change over time. In the first year, students complete core units such as Web Development, ICT Inquiry Project, Network Administration, and Networks and Switching in Semester 1, followed by Introduction to Programming, Technology in an Indigenous Context Project, Network Routing Principles, and an elective in Semester 2. These units provide a solid foundation in programming, network management, and practical ICT project experience.In the second year, students advance into major-focused units including User Experience Design Project and Network Security and Resilience in Semester 1, and IT Security and ICT Innovation Project in Semester 2, complemented by electives. These units build specialised knowledge in security, resilience, and innovation, while providing hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and securing IT systems.In the third year, students consolidate their learning through ICT Project A and B, alongside major units such as Secure Remote Access Networks, Malware Analysis, and Cyber Security Ethics, Law and Policy, plus electives.
