The Bachelor of Business Analytics at Swinburne University provides a comprehensive learning experience that combines core business principles with advanced data and information technology skills. In the first year, students establish a strong foundation through key units such as Financial Information for Decision Making, Data Management and Analytics, Business Digitalisation, and Programming Concepts. These subjects build essential analytical, financial, and technical competencies. The second semester deepens this knowledge with units like the First Year Industry Project, Contemporary Management Principles, Systems Analysis and Design, and Cloud Approaches for Enterprise Systems, allowing students to apply concepts in practical and collaborative projects.In the second year, the focus shifts toward enhancing digital and organizational skills through Professional Capabilities for a Digital World and Cyber Security for Business, alongside electives that offer flexibility for specialization. The following semester integrates business and technology with Business Process Modelling and Organisational Behaviour, supported by further elective options. A major highlight of the program is the professional placement component, where students undertake a paid 12-month placement. This includes academic and practical units—Integrated Professional Placement A and B and Work Experience in Industry A and B—providing valuable real-world exposure and professional experience with Swinburne’s industry partners.In the final year, students advance their analytical and management expertise through Business Intelligence and Data Visualisation and IT Program and Project Management, complemented by electives that align with career goals. The program concludes with the Business Digitalisation Industry Project, where students apply their cumulative learning to solve real industry challenges, along with Governing Digital Technologies, which explores the strategic and ethical dimensions of digital transformation. Throughout the course, a balance of theory, technology, and practical experience ensures that graduates are well-prepared for dynamic roles in data analysis, business intelligence, consulting, and digital innovation.
