The indicative sequence for the Bachelor of Business with a Sport major in Semester 1, 2026 provides a structured framework for students to gain foundational knowledge, specialized skills, and industry experience. Students are advised to use the study plan template available via their student portal along with their course planner to organise their studies, keeping in mind that the sequence may vary depending on advanced standing or exemptions, and that unit offerings may change over time. In the first year, students complete core business units including Financial Information for Decision Making, Economics for Business Decision Making, Business Digitalisation, and Contemporary Management Principles in Semester 1. In Semester 2, students build further business knowledge through units such as Business for Sustainability, Social Change and Impact, Creative Mindset and Entrepreneurship, Financial Statistics, and Marketing and the Consumer Experience, establishing a solid foundation in management, finance, analytics, and ethical business practices.Specialized Sport major units begin in the first year with The Sports Industry and Sport, Media and Technology, providing an understanding of the business, media, and technological aspects of sport. In the second year, students advance into Sport Business Analytics and Leading Sport Organisations, focusing on the application of analytics, strategic leadership, and organisational management in sports contexts. The third year includes units such as Sport and Sustainability, Building Sport Brands, Future of Sport, and the Business Consulting Project, which integrate sustainability, branding, future trends, and consulting skills, ensuring students graduate with both practical and strategic expertise.The program also incorporates professional placement options to provide real-world experience. Students may choose a major 12-month placement, including Work Experience in Industry A and B alongside Integrated Professional Placement A and B, or a minor six-month placement covering Work Experience in Industry A and Integrated Professional Placement A. These placements enable students to apply theoretical knowledge, develop professional skills, and build industry networks, preparing them for careers in sport management, analytics, consultancy, and related business areas.
