COURSE CURRICULUM

The indicative sequence for the Bachelor of Arts program provides students with a structured guide to plan their studies while allowing flexibility through elective choices. Students are advised to use the study plan template available via the student portal alongside their course planner to organize their academic progression. The sequence may vary depending on advanced standing, exemptions, or updates to the curriculum, and while unit information is accurate at the time of publication, changes may occur.In Semester 1, students undertake the core unit Technology and Society (ART10002), which explores the impact of technological developments on human societies, and the major unit Global Perspectives on Modernity (SOC10012), which examines the forces shaping social, political, and cultural transformations in modern societies. Students also select two elective units to tailor their learning to personal interests and broaden their academic experience.Semester 2 includes the major unit Global History (HIS10003), providing insights into global interactions, historical processes, and societal development across time. Alongside this, students choose three elective units, allowing exploration of diverse subjects and development of additional skills.In the subsequent sequence, Semester 1 features the core unit Skills and Strategies for Social Change (ART20003), which equips students with practical tools to drive meaningful change in communities and organizations. The major unit Race, Ethnicity and Migration (SOC20013) focuses on understanding social dynamics, migration patterns, and issues of diversity and inclusion. Semester 2 includes the major units Work in a Globalised World (POL20020), examining the impact of global economic, political, and social forces on work and employment, and International Indigenous Perspectives (INS20002), exploring Indigenous knowledge, histories, and activism worldwide.
