COURSE CURRICULUM

The indicative sequence for Semester 1, 2026, provides guidance for students planning their studies in the Bachelor of Arts program. Students are encouraged to use the study plan template available via the student portal along with their course planner to organize their academic progression. The sequence may vary depending on advanced standing, exemptions, or other factors, and while the unit information is accurate at the time of publication, changes may occur.In Semester 1, students will complete the core unit Skills and Strategies for Social Change (ART20003), which focuses on developing practical skills and strategies to create meaningful social impact. The major unit History, Politics and Human Rights (HIS20009) explores the intersections of historical events, political systems, and human rights issues, providing a critical understanding of societal structures. The second major unit, First Nations Resistance, Activism and Empowerment (INS20004), examines Indigenous histories, activism, and strategies for empowerment, offering insights into social justice and cultural advocacy. Students also select one elective unit, allowing them to tailor their learning to personal interests and broaden their academic experience.Semester 2 includes the major unit Philosophical Perspectives on Nature and Science (PHI20010), which investigates philosophical approaches to understanding the natural world and scientific knowledge, encouraging critical reflection on ethics, reasoning, and the role of science in society.
