COURSE CURRICULUM

The indicative sequence for the Bachelor of Business (Artificial Intelligence) for Semester 1, 2026 provides a structured pathway for students to gain both foundational knowledge in business and computing, as well as advanced skills in artificial intelligence applications. Students are advised to use the study plan template available via their student portal alongside their course planner to organise their studies effectively, noting that the sequence may vary depending on advanced standing or exemptions, and that unit offerings may change over time. In the first year, students complete core and major units such as Introduction to Programming, Data Management and Analytics, and the Business Artificial Intelligence Project, along with an elective, providing a solid foundation in programming, data analysis, and practical AI project experience. In Semester 2, students progress into Artificial Intelligence Business Strategy and Transformation, Ethics and Governance of Technology Innovation, and Tools and Techniques for Business Artificial Intelligence, complemented by an elective, equipping them with strategic, ethical, and technical competencies to apply AI solutions in business contexts.In the second year, students further develop technical expertise through core units like Cloud Computing Architecture, Object Oriented Programming, and Systems Analysis and Design in Semester 1, followed by Artificial Intelligence in Business Decision Making, Cyber Security for Business, and IT Program and Project Management in Semester 2, alongside electives. These units enhance skills in software development, system design, cybersecurity, and the application of AI in business decision-making, preparing students for professional challenges in technology-driven environments.The program also integrates professional placement opportunities to provide practical industry experience. Students may choose a major 12-month placement, including Work Experience in Industry A and B and Integrated Professional Placement A and B in Information Systems, or a minor six-month placement covering Work Experience in Industry A and Integrated Professional Placement A.In the third year, students complete advanced AI-focused units such as Artificial Intelligence Consulting Project, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, and the Business Digitalisation Industry Project, along with electives. This combination of core, major, and elective units, together with professional placements, ensures that graduates acquire the technical knowledge, analytical skills, and industry experience required to design, implement, and manage AI-driven business solutions across a variety of sectors.
