COURSE CURRICULUM

The core units of the Associate Degree of Engineering provide a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for engineering practice. Students begin by developing key technical and analytical abilities through units such as Technology in an Indigenous Context Project (COS10027), Introduction to Programming (COS10028), Engineering Mechanics (EAT10002), Engineering Materials (EAT10003), and Energy and Motion (EAT10005). These units cover fundamental principles in physics, materials science, and computing, preparing students for more advanced engineering concepts.Practical skills are further developed through the Humanitarian Engineering Design Project (EAT10027), Computer Aided Drafting and Design (EAT20001), and Project Management Practice and 3D Design Applications (EAT20005), which enable students to apply theoretical knowledge in design, planning, and problem-solving scenarios. Professional Practice in Engineering (EAT20024) and the Engineering Capstone Project (EAT20035) provide hands-on experience and opportunities to integrate learning across multiple disciplines, fostering critical thinking, teamwork, and project management skills.Mathematical foundations are strengthened through Applied Engineering Mathematics (MTH00005), Calculus and Applications (MTH10015), and Linear Algebra and Applications (MTH10016), equipping students with the analytical tools needed for engineering design and analysis.Together, these units prepare students for real-world engineering challenges while establishing a clear pathway to the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), ensuring they are well-prepared for further study and professional practice in the engineering field.
