In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge through units such as Introduction to Occupational Therapy and Human Occupations, Lifespan Development and Occupational Transitions, Introductory and Integrated Anatomy and Physiology, Understanding Wellbeing and Mental Health, and Health and Indigenous Australian Peoples. Complementary units in Foundations of Interprofessional Health Practice and Foundations of Evidence for Health Science Practitioners ensure students acquire critical thinking, research skills, and interprofessional collaboration competencies. In the second year, students focus on applied occupational therapy skills, covering Occupational Therapy Theory and Practice, Personal Care Occupations, Musculoskeletal and Reduced Energy Assessments and Interventions, Sensory Motor Assessments and Interventions, Home and Community Occupations, and Learning and Applying Knowledge for Individuals and Groups. Work Integrated Learning in Occupational Therapy I provides early clinical exposure, allowing students to apply theory to practice. The third year further develops specialised knowledge and practical skills, with units such as Education, Leisure and Play Occupations, Cognition Assessments and Interventions, Psychosocial Assessments and Interventions, Work and Employment Occupations, and elective opportunities through the Gnibi unit. Work Integrated Learning in Occupational Therapy II provides substantial professional placement experience, supported by units like Small Business and Entrepreneurship for Allied Health, Fitness and Sport. In the fourth year, students consolidate their learning and prepare for professional practice. Units include Evaluation of Occupational Therapy Programs, Work Integrated Learning in Occupational Therapy III, Health Promotion and Project, Transition to Practice, and Interprofessional Health Practice.
