COURSE CURRICULUM

The Legal and Justice program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of law, legal practice, and social policy across three years of study. In the first year, students build foundational legal knowledge through units such as Legal Research and Writing, Australian Legal System, Criminal Process, Interviewing, Negotiation and Ethics, Introduction to Land Law, Foundations of Torts, Family Law Practice, and Principles of Contract Law. These units develop critical skills in legal analysis, communication, and professional practice, providing a strong base for further study.In the second year, students expand into specialised areas of law and social policy, including Australian Politics, Commercial Law, Competition and Consumer Law, Conveyancing Law, Social Policy, and Wills and Estates. Local Government and Planning Law offers insight into regulatory and administrative frameworks, while elective law units allow students to tailor their studies according to specific interests or career goals.The third year focuses on advanced legal practice and professional development. Units such as Legal and Conveyancing Practice, Conveyancers Professional Practice, and Company Law develop practical skills in applied legal contexts, while electives such as Global Social Movements and Global Inequality and Development enable students to explore broader social, political, and international issues. The program integrates theory, practical skills, and elective options to prepare students for careers in law, conveyancing, policy, and related fields, equipping graduates with the expertise, analytical ability, and professional competence necessary for the legal and justice professions.
