The Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for professional careers in exercise science and clinical rehabilitation. They also study Growth and Development, Musculoskeletal Functional Anatomy, and Exercise Physiology, gaining essential insights into the human body’s structure, function, and response to exercise.The second year focuses on applying this knowledge to sport and exercise settings through units like Motor Control, Introductory Biomechanics, Motor Learning for Coaching, Exercise and Sport Assessment, and Fundamentals of Strength and Conditioning. Students also explore Exercise and Sport Psychology, Exercise Prescription and Delivery, and research skills through Foundations of Evidence for Health Science Practitioners.In the third year, the course emphasizes clinical and professional development. Students undertake Work Integrated Learning in Exercise Science and study topics such as Introduction to Clinical Exercise Physiology Practice, Advanced Strength and Conditioning, Human Pathophysiology, and Applied Biomechanics. They also specialize in clinical exercise physiology for various health conditions, including metabolic, renal, oncological, and musculoskeletal health.The final year integrates clinical experience and advanced practice through Work Integrated Learning in Clinical Exercise Physiology I and II, alongside specialized studies in cardiovascular, neurological, and functional health. The program concludes with the Integrated Clinical Exercise Physiology Capstone, allowing students to consolidate their learning and demonstrate professional competence.Graduates are equipped for accreditation as clinical exercise physiologists and are prepared to work in healthcare, rehabilitation, and performance settings, helping individuals improve health, fitness, and quality of life through evidence-based exercise programs.
