COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) at RMIT requires students to complete a total of 192 credit points, equivalent to approximately sixteen 12-credit-point courses. The program is structured to develop advanced business knowledge, leadership capability, and strategic thinking skills. Students must complete four core courses (48 credit points), one MBA Research Core course (12 credit points), and one capstone course (12 credit points) that integrates learning across the program. In addition, students must complete 120 credit points through one of several flexible study combinations. These include completing one MBA major plus 24 credit points of university electives, two MBA minors plus electives, one MBA minor combined with MBA option courses and electives, or a broader selection of MBA option courses with electives. MBA option courses include subjects from majors, minors, professional placements, and research-focused units. Students may include up to 24 credit points of university electives, or replace them with MBA option courses. The program also allows a maximum of 48 credit points from professional placement and research subjects, providing practical and applied learning opportunities. Majors typically consist of 96 credit points, while minors are 48 credit points, and students may complete up to two minors. The structure ensures flexibility while maintaining academic depth, and courses must be completed in sequence without duplication across majors or minors.
