COURSE CURRICULUM

Year One of the program focuses on providing a strong foundation in key areas of property and real estate. Students complete six core courses, starting with Valuation Techniques and Property Analysis, which equips them with the skills to assess property values and analyse market trends effectively. Real Estate Law introduces students to the legal frameworks governing property ownership, transactions, and development. Investment Evaluation Techniques for Real Estate develops the ability to evaluate the financial performance of property investments and make informed decisions. Building Systems covers the technical aspects of construction and infrastructure, providing insight into how physical structures impact property value. Property Development Analysis and Feasibility teaches students to assess development opportunities, including project planning, design considerations, and financial viability. Corporate Property Finance focuses on the financial management of property assets, including funding strategies, investment appraisal, and risk management. In addition to these core courses, students select two program option courses to tailor their learning to specific interests or career goals.In Year Two, students advance their skills in research and quantitative analysis through courses such as Research Design and Methods and Quantitative Methods for Economic Analysis. Contemporary Property Investment Planning provides a comprehensive understanding of investment strategies, market analysis, and decision-making processes in a global context. Students can then choose between two pathways: the Industry Project option, which includes the Property Industry Project and three additional program option courses, allowing practical, hands-on experience in real-world settings, or the Research/PhD pathway, which involves completing Research Investigation 1 and Research Investigation 2 to develop advanced research skills suitable for academic or professional research careers. This structure ensures that graduates are well-prepared for senior roles in property management, investment, development, and related sectors, with a combination of practical expertise, analytical skills, and research capabilities.
