COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Photography program is designed to develop advanced technical skills, creative practice, and critical thinking in photographic arts. In the first year, students complete 72 credit points, including core courses such as Photography Studio 1 and 2, Critical Frameworks A, and Strategies for Creative Research. These courses provide a foundation in photographic techniques, creative exploration, research methodologies, and conceptual frameworks. Students also select 24 credit points from program option courses, allowing them to tailor their studies to individual professional and artistic interests.In the second year, students complete another 72 credit points through Photography Studio 3 and 4, Language of Creative Practice, and Professional Creative Practice. These courses focus on refining technical expertise, developing a distinctive creative voice, and understanding the professional contexts of photography. Throughout the program, students engage in practical studio work, research-informed projects, and professional practice activities, enabling them to produce a cohesive body of work that demonstrates both conceptual sophistication and technical proficiency. Graduates are equipped for professional roles in photography, visual arts, media, or further research and creative practice.
