COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Media program is designed to equip students with advanced skills in media production, storytelling, and professional practice, preparing them for careers in media, communication, and creative industries. In the first year, students complete five core courses totaling 84 credit points, including Creative Media Work Practices, Developing Story and Script, Sound and Image, Story and Audience, and Collaborative Media Project. These courses focus on developing technical media skills, narrative construction, audience engagement, and collaborative project management. In addition, students choose one elective course from the School Options list or a University Postgraduate Elective, allowing them to tailor their studies to their professional interests and career goals.In the second year, students continue to build expertise through five advanced courses totaling 84 credit points, including Impact Storytelling, Research Methods for Media, Strategic Media Project, Media Career Development, and a Professional Research Project (Media). These courses emphasize applied research, strategic project management, and career preparation, enabling students to execute complex media projects and communicate effectively to professional audiences. The program combines creative, technical, and research-focused learning to ensure graduates are well-prepared for diverse roles in media production, digital content creation, storytelling, and media management, with strong analytical and professional capabilities suited to the evolving media landscape.
