COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Interior Design program is structured to develop advanced design, research, and professional skills, preparing students for careers in interior design, spatial planning, and related creative industries. In the first year, students complete five core courses totaling 84 credit points, including Partnered Interior Design Studio 1 and 2, Interior Design Practices 1 and 2, and Interior Design Research Strategies. These courses provide a balance of practical studio work, professional practice, and research skills, enabling students to develop conceptual and technical expertise in interior design. Additionally, students select one Program Option course from a list provided in the program structure, allowing for specialization and alignment with individual career goals.In the second year, students further develop their design capabilities through Partnered Interior Design Studio 3 and 4, Interior Design Practices 3 and 4, and a Portfolio course, collectively totaling 84 credit points. The studio courses focus on complex design projects, collaborative work, and applied problem-solving, while the practices courses emphasize professional skills, project management, and industry standards. The Portfolio course enables students to compile, present, and critically reflect on their design work, preparing them for professional practice and employment. Across both years, the curriculum combines hands-on studio experience, theoretical knowledge, and professional development, equipping graduates with the creative, technical, and strategic competencies required to succeed as interior designers in diverse commercial, residential, and institutional contexts.
