COURSE CURRICULUM
The Master of Engineering (Telecommunication and Network Engineering) program provides students with advanced theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in telecommunications, networking, and digital communication systems. Designed for those seeking to build a career in high-demand technological sectors, this program combines research, design, and system management skills to prepare graduates for leadership roles in the field. In the first year, students complete a compulsory course, Research Methods in Engineering, which builds foundational skills in scientific inquiry, project management, and professional communication. Alongside this, students select six courses from a wide range of specialized subjects such as Digital Signal Processing, Optical Fibre Systems and Networks, Antennas for Mobile and Satellite Communications, Mobile and Personal Communication Systems, Network Access Systems, and Software Defined Networks. Additional options such as Radar Systems, RF and Microwave Circuits, Advanced Network Engineering, and Wireless Sensor Networks with Internet of Things integration enable students to customize their learning to suit career interests.Students further select one additional elective from an extensive list, including topics like Image Systems Engineering, Real-Time Systems Design, Semiconductor Device Fabrication, Applied Analytics, and Humanitarian Engineering, ensuring interdisciplinary flexibility and breadth of expertise. In the second year, the focus shifts toward advanced research and professional development. Students complete 48 credit points through a major research project, which may be undertaken as a single Masters Research Project or divided into two sequential parts. This capstone project allows for independent exploration of complex problems in telecommunication or network systems under academic supervision. Additionally, students complete four advanced electives in areas such as Cloud Networks, Computer and Network Security, Network Design and Performance, and Wireless Systems. Overall, the program equips graduates with a comprehensive understanding of communication technologies, analytical problem-solving skills, and practical research experience, preparing them for roles in telecommunications, cybersecurity, IoT systems, and advanced network infrastructure across global industries.
