COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of advanced engineering concepts, innovation, and research skills through a combination of core and elective courses. In the first year of the program, students are required to complete 96 credit points, covering essential areas such as Sustainable Engineering Practice and Design, Innovation and Technology Management, Risk and Project Management, and Modelling and Simulation of Engineering Systems. The curriculum also includes advanced technical courses such as Advanced Mechatronics System Design, Advanced Control Systems, Research Methods in Engineering, and Image Systems Engineering, all offered at the City Campus. These subjects aim to develop students’ expertise in engineering design, systems analysis, and innovative problem-solving within complex technological environments. In the second year, students complete 36 credit points in specialized topics including Advanced Robotic Systems, Real Time Estimation and Control, and Industry 4.0 Technologies, which focus on cutting-edge developments in automation and intelligent systems. Additionally, students must select 12 credit points from a range of electives such as Real Time Systems Design, Digital Signal Processing, Humanitarian Engineering, Visual Data Processing Applications, Biomedical Manufacturing, and Intelligent Systems, allowing them to tailor their studies to their professional interests. The program culminates in a major research component worth 48 credit points, where students can either undertake a full Masters Research Project or split the research into two sequential parts, Masters Research Project Part 1 and Part 2. This capstone element enables students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering challenges, conduct independent research, and contribute to technological advancement. Overall, the program equips graduates with advanced technical, analytical, and managerial skills essential for leadership roles in modern engineering industries.
